Pertama sekali tahniah di atas ranking UM yang kembali ke dalam THES World University Rankings. Saya sebagai alumni dan staf sangat bangga dan tak sabar untuk kembali ke tanahair untuk bersama-sama dalam usaha Prof memartabatkan UM.

Sebagai pengenalan: saya seorang pensyarah dari Fakulti Kejuruteraan yang sedang melanjutkan pelajaran di UK. Minggu ini saya ada menghadiri kursus Workshop on Scientific Information in the Digital Age: Access and Dissemination.

The talk on education was given by Donald Clark, a well-known educator, and his talk here is available for free.

Quite useful, I must say, for all educators out there.

Dan salah satu maklumat baru yang saya perolehi adalah berkenaan teknik-teknik baru yang boleh digunakan dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran; terutamanya untuk generasi-Y. Idea yang ingin saya kongsi adalah berkenaan pembabitan UM as a player in global knowledge dissemination. I’d like you to have a look at University of the People.

In essence: it’s somewhat like Open University, but without any fee. Only a small fee is applicable for taking the exams. And educators around the world can help by providing free course materials, or becoming online mentors. I think with the expertise that we have, the quality that we have, we can truly make a difference to the world.

Gasket thickness about 180 um, medium conductivity 5 mS/m (KCl), microarray diameter 300 um, cell count about 1.0e8.
